1935
"Chocolate Crisp" is born in England!
On August 29, the British company Rontry released "Chocolate Crisp", which is a wafer wrapped in chocolate. For the first time, the 4-finger (bar) that is the basis of "KitKat" came from a suggestion from a man working at Rontry's factory.
1937
Kitkat Chocolate Crisp
"Chocolate crisp" which became a big hit in England. Concerned that the product name is a little long, Rontry named "Chocolate Crisp" the "KITKAT" brand in May 1937 and named it "KitKat Chocolate Crisp".
"Break" is born! At the same time, for the first time this year, we started an advertisement with the concept of "Break" with "KitKat".

KitKat is now available in more than 80 countries worldwide and produces 460 products in 8 locations in 5 countries. We currently employ over 5 159 people, who ensure that customers can have a break, where ever they are.
